Honest Communication

Honest communication has been cited as a major ingredient when forming successful and long relationships. It is necessary to learn how to communicate your concerns and needs and listen to the other person as well. Skillful communications are necessary in all parts of life and effects how you will relate at your career and it’s used to help you shape your children’s lives.

Positive communication is much more intricate than many realize and it’s an important part of everyone’s life. Look at they way you communicate your objections around your children’s unacceptable behavior; it is important that they know it is their behavior that you don’t like and not them personally. Another important ingredient of communications is the tone of address and non-verbal body language that is displayed.

Your skills have evolved through experience and age; however you must still take a proactive stance in order to refine your skills so that they will continue to help you in life. Not many things in life come at no cost and yet still increase your opportunities of having a productive life; manners, however, are free and are valued and respected world wide. Manners tend to communicate so loudly and speak volumes as to who you are and how you were raised. Most people react very differently if they are spoken to in a non-judgmental tone of respect.

Humor is one way to create a constructive conversation as it makes everyone feel more relaxed and comfortable, putting everyone on an even keel. It is also useful because it allows people to feel less offended at what is intended as constructive criticism. When you are able to turn into yourself and laugh at your mistakes it goes a long way towards making people feel at ease and comfortable.

One other important part of communication is knowing that apologizing to your child is an effective way to be a role model, showing them that it is something worth aspiring to. If you are wrong then apologize to them and they will likely appreciate the fact that you are honest. If you have seen any communication between your child and their friends you may have noticed that they have different options in how to express their feelings more vividly. They use smileys to help emphasize their words and feelings; MSN emoticons are similar but they are usually a little more animated. It is a way of stressing how they feel without having to get all “mushy” as they say.

The people we meet in life are all important in one way or another and everyone should take the opportunity to listen and communicate their desires and needs.
